| HCY Swim Team |
The HCY Manta Ray program focuses on individual and team improvement in a fun family
environment and its swimmers, coaches and families follow the Y of Central Maryland
Principles of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
The HCY Swim team consists of 120+ swimmers. Over the years we have had several Y
National qualifiers, YMCA Top-16 times, Regional Champions, and District Champions.
Swimmers must try out for the team. Each child age 9 and up must be able to swim a
minimum of 50 yards of freestyle and backstroke with knowledge of breaststroke, butterfly,
diving and flip-turns. Swimmers under the age of 9 must be able to swim 25 yards of
freestyle and backstroke. (Age is determined by the age they are on December 1st of the
current season). Not all swimmers are guaranteed a spot on the team due to limited
capacity.
