This is Adam's fourth season as a Coach at the Howard County Y and third season as Head Coach. He will be coaching the Gold/Platinum Team. Adam swam for age group swim teams in Alaska, Japan, Louisiana, and Hawaii. He most recently swam for Frostburg State University and was the team captain for his final two seasons. His coaching experience involves assistant coach at the Cumberland Y, assistant coach at Hunting Hills, and head coach for the Supreme Sports Club's Masters team. During the day Adam works as the Aquatics Director at the Y. In his free time he enjoys competing in Masters swim meets, open water swims, and triathlons.

This will be Pete's third season with the HCY. Coach Pete is USA Swimming/Amercian Swim Coaches' Association, certified Level 1 swim coach. He will be coaching silver plus and gold groups. He also will be coaching one lane of silver kids. Since coaching at the HCY, Pete has been instrumental in helping the youngest swimmers to win the 8 and Under Championships, for both the boys and girls teams, 2 years in a row! During the summer, he coaches at the Rollingwood Swim Club. Pete has helped the HCY to become a very competitive and fun swim team. Pete is certified as a lifeguard, as well as a lifeguard trainer. Pete brings a lot of energy to the swim team. He pushes the swimmers to improve while finding ways to have fun.

Daniele has been a member of the Retriever Aquatic Club for 16 years and swam NCAA division one at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She is an eight time school record holder and won the Matt Sklasky Student-Athlete award in 2008. She was the swim team captain during her junior and senior years. She has coached at the UMBC swim clinics from 2007-2009 and has been a swim lesson instructor for eight years. Daniele recently graduated in May, 2009, with a degree in graphic design. Daniele will be coaching at the Silver and Silver Plus level and will also help coach the Bronze team.

Coach Lynn Gibbons

Lynn has been involved in competitive swimming for over 30 years and is currently the head coach at the Watermont Swim Club in Elkridge. She has swam and coached at the Howard County Y in the past with great success. She held several records for the HCY and Forest Hill Swim Clubs. She is excited to rejoin our family and brings with her an abundance of swimming knowledge. Lynn will be coaching the Bronze team and improving our Swimmers Teaching Swimmers program.

Coach Ashley Bialecki

Ashley is currently a chemistry and biochemistry major at Towson University. This is Ashley’s first season coaching for the Manta Rays. Previously, Ashley taught swimming lessons at the HCY for 2 years. Ashley has been swimming all her life; starting at age 7. She has swam for the Phelps Luck Snappers, the Columbia Clippers, and the HCY Manta Rays. She is very excited to be back with the team and will be coaching the Bronze swimmers. Ashley loves working with kids and is a very positive person. She is really looking forward to helping the swimmers grow and reach their full potential.

Coach Chen Burgoyne

Chen has been swimming since he was 5. During the summer he swam for the Dorsey's Search Dolphins. He began swimming for the Columbia Clippers in middle school and eventually followed some friends over to HCY during his freshman year. Chen also helped coach the Bronze group last year. Chen is currently attending UMBC as an undecided major. "I hope I can help our swimmers improve their stroke technique as well as help them build confidence in their own swimming".

Dr. Dai Nguyen Volunteer Coach

Dai is a pediatric anesthesiologist and has been a dedicated swim team parent with HCY for the last two years. Dai has a great love for teaching children. Coach Dai is also USA Swimming/American Coaches' Association, certified level 1 swim coach. "My passion is stroke and turn techniques. Although I still have much to learn from the other coaches, I hope to dedicate my free time to help in any capacity with making our swimmers better". We are very fortunate to have Dr. Nguyen working with our swimmers!
